Eucalyptus Grove in Golden Gate Park

When planning a photoshoot near the San Francisco coast, you need to make a few assumptions. First, that it’s going to be foggy. If it’s not the fog, you’re probably going to contend with a cold wind coming off the Pacific. If you’re lucky, the fog lifts, the sun shines and a beautiful fall day comes together.

With a golden light beaming through the eucalyptus trees and a hawk perched on the bough of the tree, a perfect scene was set. I captured one of my absolute favorite images to date. The moment this mom and daughter share while observing this beautiful bird left us all with a buzz of excitement. It’s almost as if it was waiting there until I captured the right moment. Then off it flew to find it’s dinner.
